Why is it important to oil your blades REGULARLY?

 Oiling blades: 

•  Increases blade life by up to 4x by keeping blades sharper for longer 

• Makes the blades stay cooler for longer – meaning you don't have to rotate blades as often or have to wait for them to cool down and also means the animal is safer 

• Increases cutting efficiency meaning less load is put on the clipper motor making it perform better for longer 

Imagine that a blade is 2 bits of metal rubbing back and forth thousands of times a minute – this friction of the 2 blades causes heat – heat causes the blades to be more malleable – blades then become blunt – blade performance decreases.
